Adamawa State University (ADSU), Mubi, has expelled 14 of its students over examination malpractice during the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic session, while one other student received a strong caution.
According to a bulletin issued by the Office of the Registrar and signed by the Academic Secretary, the decision followed the recommendations of the University Students’ Disciplinary Committee. It was ratified at the institution’s 131st Senate meeting held on August 28, 2025.
The affected students, drawn from various departments including Computer Science, Zoology, Chemistry, Political Science, Economics, Marketing, Accounting, Taxation, Educational Foundations, and Science Education, were found guilty of serious examination misconduct.
Among those expelled are Hezekiah Micah (Computer Science), Paul Simon (Zoology), Kabiru Musa (Chemistry), and Ahmed Abdulhamid (Computer Science). The Senate, however, issued a warning to Dahiru Bala Bobbo, a 300-level student of Science Education, cautioning that any future misconduct would attract stiffer sanctions.
In a statement, the university reiterated its zero-tolerance policy on examination malpractice and misconduct, emphasising its commitment to safeguarding academic integrity and credibility.
“The institution will not hesitate to apply strict disciplinary measures against any student found culpable of academic or behavioural infractions,” the management said.
