Kwara State University (KWASU) has appointed Dr Kabir Mustapha as the Acting Director of the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES). The appointment, approved by Vice-Chancellor Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, was officially confirmed in a letter signed by the Registrar, Dr Kikelomo W. Sallee, and dated June 19, 2025.
Dr Mustapha, who hails from Offa in Kwara State, joined KWASU in 2012 as a lecturer in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. Before this new role, he served as Acting Director at the Centre for International Education. He is well-respected for his research in composite materials and has been actively involved in mentoring students, as well as serving on key university committees. His new position is seen as a step toward improving student training and industrial skill development at the university.
