Chief (Mrs) Omolade Oludare, a former Tutor-General in Ondo State, has applauded Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for reforming the State’s educational sector. The governor has implemented several educational bills, with several schools undergoing renovation. With high hopes, the educationist encourages the governor to continue prioritising education. According to her, she foresees a future for the State in Nigeria’s educational system.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Oludare commended Aiyedatiwa for recently recruiting over 2000 teachers and underwriting WAEC fees for public school students. She also cited the allocation of N335 million for bursaries and scholarships. Oludare believes that these actions will act as a game-changer for the workforce, pupils, and students.
Aiyedatiwa, who recently approved the renovation and construction of buildings in technical colleges and several secondary schools within Ondo, continues to grow the educational sector. In a press statement, Oludare said, “I began my teaching career in the early 80s in Ondo State, retiring a few years back. I have a thorough understanding of the challenges facing the education sector in the State, which have hindered the progress rate the State should have achieved. These problems range from inadequate teaching force as against the soaring rate of pupils/students’ admissions; poor teaching aids amongst other facilities, and general disenchantment, owing to economic challenges.” The governor is setting a high standard and ensuring the State fosters intellectual and moral values.
