Lagos-OEQA to Boost Education Quality

OEQA in Lagos State has organised its second quarterly meeting of the Collaborative Technical Committee (CTC)

The Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA) in Lagos State has organised its second quarterly meeting of the Collaborative Technical Committee (CTC) geared towards improving education quality. The meeting, themed “Strengthening Multi-Agency Collaboration for Improved Educational Outcomes in Lagos State,” was held on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the OEQA headquarters office in Ikeja.

Mr. Remi Abdul, the OEQA Coordinating Director, said a single agency cannot resolve the diverse issues affecting Lagos’ education system. He added that the quarterly meeting was established with the support of Mr. Jamiu Tolani Alli-Balogun, the Honourable Commissioner for the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, to tackle the issues.

Mr. Hakeem Kehinde Idowu, Director of Planning, OEQA, said, “Through the inter-agency forum, we are continually bridging the gap between policy implementation and the people they are meant to serve.”

In addition, Mr. Ojelade David Kayode, an Assistant Director in the Department of Planning, Research, and Statistics (PRS), noted that there have been improvements in the state in terms of waste management in schools, safety response mechanisms, curriculum monitoring, laboratory upgrades, and reviews of school health policies.

He credited the positive development to inter-agency coordination and shared responsibility.
