A Lagos student, Oluwadarasimi Idowu of Ferscoat School, Ipaja, has emerged the overall winner of the 2025 National Mathematics Competition (NMC).
The contest, held at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, featured finalists drawn from all 36 states of the federation.
Idowu, representing Lagos in the senior category, beat 21 other contestants to secure first place. Benue and Oyo states took the second and third positions, respectively.
Ferscoat School also celebrated another achievement as its student, Sunday Dominion, represented the school in the junior category and finished ninth out of 23 contestants.
In the junior division of the competition, Ogun State swept both first and second positions, while Oyo State placed third.
The victory has been hailed as a proud moment for Lagos State and a testimony to the quality of education at Ferscoat School
