Lagos State Government has organised a vocational and emergency preparedness programme for 2025 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members to enhance their skills in security, safety and emergency response.
Speaking at the maiden edition held at Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mobolaji Ogunlende, said the initiative reflects the state’s commitment to youth development under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Permanent Secretary Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu added that the programme would become an annual event to maximise corps members’ awareness and preparedness.
NYSC Coordinator Christiana Salmwang commended the government for prioritising the welfare and security of corps members.
Participants received practical sessions from representatives of the Rapid Response Squad, Command and Control Centre, Fire and Rescue Service, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and Lagos State Aids Control Agency, focusing on security awareness and emergency management skills.
