The management of Lagos State University (LASU) has condemned a viral video titled “Bandits Prank on Lasuites,” created and uploaded by Datreez Entertainment TV on Friday, December 5, 2025.
The video, which showed individuals dressed in a way that caused fear and panic on campus, was recorded without the university’s approval or authorisation. LASU described the filming as unacceptable and stressed it did not endorse the content.
In a statement, Deputy Registrar Oluwayemisi Thomas-Onashile said the university strongly rejects any acts or content portraying banditry, terrorism, or violent extremism.
She noted such pranks threaten campus peace and the safety of students and staff, particularly amid Nigeria’s ongoing national security challenges.
LASU reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a secure and peaceful learning environment. Members of the university community were urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity to the LASU Security Unit.
