MTN Nigeria has celebrated the conferment of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Fellowship on its Chief Human Resources Officer, Esther Akinnukawe, reaffirming the company’s commitment to inclusion and female leadership.
Akinnukawe received the honour at the CIPM Gala Night and Awards Ceremony held on October 30, 2025. She described the recognition as the result of years of dedication to advancing human capital excellence.
“It is a privilege to be honoured by Nigeria’s foremost HR institute. This milestone inspires me to keep driving MTN’s people strategy and culture of excellence,” she said.
Her achievement follows a growing trend of women rising to top positions within MTN Nigeria. The company’s 2024 Annual Report shows women account for 41.4% of its workforce, 34.7% of management, and 21.4% of the board.
MTN also boasts several female executives in strategic roles, including Uto Ukpanah, President of ICSAN; Odunayo Sanya, Executive Director of MTN Foundation; and A’isha Mumuni, Chief Digital Officer.
