Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has inaugurated the governing board of the state’s new Education Trust Fund, saying it will help bridge gaps in the education system.
Speaking at Government House in Lafia on Wednesday, Mr Sule said the fund was created to support the wider needs of the sector beyond basic education, which is covered by counterpart funding from the Universal Basic Education Board.
He said the initiative would provide infrastructure and manpower to overhaul the system and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering quality education.
Timothy Anjide, a former Secretary to the State Government, was named chairman of the Education Trust Fund board. The governor also swore in Ayuba Usman Wandai for a second term as chairman of the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission.
