The academic community in Nasarawa State has been thrown into grief following the deaths of two respected scholars just days apart.
Dr Gbolagade Kola Adegoke, a senior lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), passed away after a brief illness at the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi. His death came as a heavy shock to colleagues and students who described him as a dedicated teacher and mentor.
A few days later, Mr Solomon Zari, the pioneer Provost of the Nasarawa State College of Nursing Sciences in Lafia, also passed away, compounding the sense of loss within the state’s education sector.
Both men were regarded as pillars of scholarship and institutional growth in Nasarawa. Their passing has left an enormous vacuum, with many saying their contributions will remain a lasting legacy in the state’s academic history.
