Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Women Forum
The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Women Forum has joined the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, using the period to raise awareness, amplify survivors’ voices, and renew its commitment to ending violence against women and girls.
The forum highlighted that gender-based violence is a human rights violation that undermines societal progress. Lawyers and advocates pledged to strengthen legal protections, ensure accountability, and support survivors in accessing justice and safety.
This year, the NBA Women Forum called on governments, private institutions, community leaders, law enforcement, and citizens to take concrete actions against harassment and abuse in homes, workplaces, schools, and communities.
The forum emphasised that silence perpetuates abuse, while collective action can stop it. It reaffirmed its dedication to advocacy, legal aid, public education, and strategic partnerships to safeguard the rights and dignity of women and girls.
“Together, we can create a society where safety is guaranteed, justice is accessible, and every woman and girl lives free from violence,” the forum stated.
