Nekede Rector Brings Fairness to Job Hiring

Dr Basilia Igbokwe, the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, is revolutionising the way job recruitment is conducted at the school. She ensures that all hiring is fair, transparent, and merit-based. On June 17, 2025, she surprised interview centres with an unannounced visit to check if the process was being followed properly. Her leadership has reinstated proper rules from the Federal Government, including public job advertisements, deadlines, and proper interviews. Dr Igbokwe has kept her promise by offering permanent jobs to many part-time and contract staff, demonstrating kindness and fairness to those who have worked diligently for years. Despite the challenges, she has remained intense and focused, earning the respect of students, staff, and the public.
