In response to Europe’s growing shortage of skilled workers, Nexford University and Constructor University have formed a new partnership to open pathways for Nigerian students to gain international education and career opportunities, particularly in Germany.
Starting in the 2025/2026 academic year, Nigerian students can begin their degrees online through Nexford University’s affordable, career-focused programmes.
They will then have the chance to transfer to Constructor University in Bremen, Germany, to complete their studies on campus.
This enables students to gain valuable hands-on experience in German industries and establish connections within Europe’s professional networks.
Postgraduate students can even earn dual master’s degrees through a coordinated curriculum recognised by both universities.
This programme is designed to reduce the typically high upfront costs and complex visa processes that have made studying abroad challenging for many Nigerian students.
Nigeria produces over 500,000 university graduates annually, but struggles to provide sufficient professional job opportunities. Meanwhile, Germany expects a shortage of seven million skilled workers by 2035, with more than 209,000 vacancies currently in science, technology.
