Esther Mark, Star Education and Leadership Initiative (SELI) Founder

Star Education and Leadership Initiative (SELI), a non-governmental organisation, has trained 250 teachers in Plateau State through an initiative tagged ‘Pages and Play Promoting Literacy and Learning Through Child-Friendly Environments.’

While addressing newsmen, Esther Mark, SELI Founder, stated that the training was organised to empower teachers with modern teaching approaches.

She stated, “This is our fourth annual SELI Teacher Training Workshop, and our idea is to spark the curiosity of teachers and encourage them to go beyond traditional methods of teaching by incorporating play and literacy.”

Emphasising the NGO’s role, she added, “We provide services and implement projects that promote quality access to education for young people.”

Mark elaborated that the training is designed to help teachers incorporate books and reading, and joyful learning into their classrooms, making learning more engaging, effective, and meaningful for students.
