Hannatu Musawa, Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy
The Federal Government has endorsed the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism’s (NIHOTOUR) role in promoting Nigeria’s culture, tourism, and youth employment, ahead of a major gastronomy festival in December.
Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, announced at a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday, stating that the President Bola Tinubu administration is committed to initiatives that deepen economic growth and provide opportunities for young people.
The festival, “Taste of Culture 2025,” themed Oriki – a royal dining experience, is scheduled for December 6. Organisers aim to showcase Nigeria’s culinary and cultural heritage while creating jobs and attracting investment across the food, hospitality, and agribusiness sectors.
Dr Aare Fagade, NIHOTOUR Director-General, said the fifth edition of the annual Renewed Hope NIHOTOUR gastronomy event will feature a Guinness World Record attempt for the longest dining table, alongside fashion, music, and lifestyle displays. He described it as a platform to “unlock the creative and productive potential of Nigerians” and boost both domestic and international tourism.
The festival will also unveil President Tinubu’s national food signature, signalling a government-backed push to position Nigeria as a global culinary and cultural destination.
