The Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Ogba, hosted Tech Breeze, a tech-media training event organised by innovation brand Techpression, on Friday, August 8, 2025.
The event, which was held at the Sir Kesington Adebutu Media Resource Centre, brought together industry experts, digital innovators, and some aspiring journalists to explore how technology is reshaping the media landscape. It is part of Techpression’s campus innovation tour, which has visited Ajayi Crowther University and Joseph Ayo Babalola University this year. Deputy Provost of NIJ, Dr. Adeboye Ola, who was excited about the programme, stressed the need for journalists to merge traditional skills with digital tools to stay relevant.
Techpression’s Managing Director, Dr. Pelumi Apantaku, said bridging the gap between journalism and technology is essential. He challenged students to seize opportunities presented by the programme to learn and innovate. He insisted that “the future of journalism is already digital.” The event featured training, networking, and discussions on the future of storytelling.
