The Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB) has announced a mentorship and capacity-building programme for students, early-career professionals, and probationers in the building sector.

Bldr Daniel Kolade, the NIOB President, during his investiture ceremony, disclosed that the initiative springs from the realisation that the future of the building profession lies in the hands of young builders.

Highlighting his administration’s plans, he elaborated, “This administration will intensify capacity development and mentorship programmes, targeted at students, probationers, and early-career professionals.”

He added, “We will strengthen our collaboration with the National Board for Technical Education and training institutions on Recognition of Prior Learning skills acquisition, and competency certification.”

The president noted that the institute will strengthen its partnership in skills development with agencies such as the Nigerian Correctional Service.
