Prof. Ado Yusuf, the Executive Director of IAR
The Association of Organic Agriculture Practitioners of Nigeria (NOAN), the West Africa Secretariat of Ecological Organic Agriculture, has collaborated with the Institute of Research (IAR) at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State, to organise a capacity-building training under the ECOWAS Strategy on Youth Employability Project (ECOWAS-YEP).
The training aims to equip Nigerian youth in the Agro-Sylvo-Pastoral and Fisheries sectors with modern production techniques and business knowledge.
In addition, the training will focus on making the youth employable and supporting ecological organic agriculture and sustainable farming in West Africa.
In his remarks, Prof. Ado Yusuf, the Executive Director of IAR, stated that it is essential to have innovative and knowledgeable youth who can contribute to climate-smart agriculture, rural economic growth, and national food security.
