NSUK Hosts UNDP Team to Boost Mining Innovation UniPod

To activate the Mining-themed UniPod at Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), a delegation from the UNDP Africa Regional Office made a working visit to the institution on June 17, 2025. The UniPod aims to promote research and innovation in mineral development, linking academic knowledge with industry needs, and supporting local miners with enhanced skills and training.

It also aims to align university training with industry needs and assist local miners in enhancing their skills. Some planned activities include workshops, business clinics, and public calls for participation leading up to the official launch. The UNDP team commended NSUK for its progress and described the UniPod as a bold step towards advancing innovation and creating strong partnerships in Nigeria’s mining sector. They also praised its focus on mining technology, environmental safety, and collaboration with industry players in a bid to boost the nation’s mining economy.
