The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved 26 new academic programmes for the Federal University Dutse (FUD), starting from the 2025/2026 session.
According to a statement by the university’s Director of Public Affairs, Abdullahi Yahaya Bello, the approval followed a successful resource verification by NUC teams to assess the school’s readiness. The new courses include undergraduate degrees in Food Science and Technology, Arabic, Industrial Chemistry, and Industrial Mathematics. Postgraduate and doctoral programmes were also approved in areas such as Chemistry, Mathematics, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Environmental Management, Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Soil Science, Crop Science, and Animal Science.
Other approvals cover Management, Taxation, Political Science, Criminology, Biochemistry, and Civil Society in Development. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdulkarim Sabo Muhammed, thanked the NUC for the approvals and praised staff for their hard work, urging them to maintain high academic standards while running the new programmes.
