Havilla University in Ikom, Cross River State, has achieved full accreditation for its Nursing Science programme, marking a significant achievement in its health sciences development.
The National Universities Commission (NUC) conducted a rigorous evaluation in November 2024 and confirmed that the programme meets national standards.
The NUC noted areas for improvement, including curriculum innovation, increasing the number of faculty with doctoral degrees, enhancing library resources, and strengthening funding, but affirmed the overall quality of the programme.
The university is also listed among Nursing & Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) approved schools, further validating its commitment to professional standards.
Located on a 228-hectare campus, Havilla University’s Faculty of Health Sciences offers Medical Laboratory Science, Physiotherapy, Public Health, and Nursing Sciences.
The accreditation is expected to boost student confidence, attract new applicants and ensure graduates are competitive for licensure and professional practice.
