NUC Panels Praise IBBU Lapai Progress

Accreditation teams from the National Universities Commission (NUC) have expressed confidence in the progress of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), Lapai, while urging the institution to consolidate ongoing reforms in teaching, learning, and quality assurance.

The Mathematics Education panel, led by Professor Ibrahim Galadima, highlighted improvements in curriculum design, library resources, and teaching facilities. He noted past deficiencies in methodology, staffing, and resource organisation had shown significant progress but called for enhanced pedagogy, safety measures, and updated learning materials.

Similarly, Professor Bala Dogo, head of the Geography Education panel, commended the university for its hospitality and staff cooperation, emphasising proactive documentation, facility maintenance, and student feedback as key to sustaining academic standards.

Responding, Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammed Hadi Sulaiman thanked the NUC teams for their constructive engagement and pledged to address identified gaps, including fire safety and staffing constraints. He highlighted ongoing recruitment into critical areas and vowed to strengthen Mathematics Education teaching in line with national standards.

Alhaji Idris Saleh Kusherki, Registrar, expressed gratitude to the visiting teams and noted IBBU’s commitment to continuous improvement and readiness for future accreditation cycles.

The exercise underscores IBBU Lapai’s position as one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing state universities, dedicated to maintaining high-quality academic standards.
