Nursing Council Commends KHAIRUN Over Commitment to Quality Nursing Education

Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano

The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) has commended Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN), Kano, for its proactive steps in ensuring high standards in its Bachelor of Nursing Science programme.

This was made known in a statement issued on Wednesday by the university’s Acting Director of Corporate Affairs and Marketing, Malam Bilal Dahiru Tijjani.

The commendation came after a visit by a delegation from the council, which the university invited as part of efforts to strengthen its nursing programme.

During the visit, the team evaluated the infrastructure and resources provided by the university to support quality nursing education.

The Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, Ndagi Alhasan, who led the delegation, expressed satisfaction with what he saw, praising the university for its early and consistent engagement with the council.

“We commend the proactive approach of KHAIRUN in initiating early and continuous engagement with the council,” Alhasan stated.

After a thorough review of the facilities and academic structure, the council noted the progress made so far and provided suggestions to further improve the programme.

In response, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, the Vice-Chancellor of KHAIRUN, stated that the visit aligns with the university’s plan to provide excellent nursing education. He promised to act on the council’s recommendations.

“The recommendations provided by the council will be implemented promptly,” Professor Garba assured. “This visit is part of our deliberate strategy to ensure full compliance with regulatory standards and to reinforce our mission to deliver top-quality nursing education.”

This development reflects KHAIRUN’s continued commitment to academic excellence and its goal of producing well-trained nurses who will play key roles in Nigeria’s healthcare system.

The strong partnership with the Nursing and Midwifery Council indicates a bright future for KHAIRUN’s nursing programme and its graduates.
