The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream II orientation course will commence on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, across all camps nationwide.
This was revealed in a countdown post on the NYSC official website titled “Countdown to the Start of the 2025 Batch A Stream II Orientation Course.”
Registration for prospective corps members will start the same day and end at midnight on Friday, June 13. The swearing-in ceremony is also set for June 13, while the orientation exercise will close on Tuesday, July 1.
All prospective corps members are to report to the orientation camps indicated on their call-up letters.
Graduates trained outside Nigeria are required to present their international passports along with the original versions of all previously uploaded documents.
It is advised that every corps member reads their call-up letter thoroughly and follows the instructions strictly.
In light of security concerns, corps members are encouraged to use only transportation companies operating from government-approved motor parks.
The NYSC discourages night travel, especially when it is late at night. Prospective corps members are advised to stop their journey and spend the night in military barracks, police stations, NYSC secretariats, or corps lodges closest to their location.
During registration at camp, certain documents are mandatory. These include the original copy of the call-up letter, which may have been issued by an institution or printed online.
Corps members must also present their original degree certificate or statement of result, a valid school identification card, and a certificate of medical fitness issued by a government or military hospital.
This certificate must bear the stamp of the Nigerian Medical Association.
For those in regulated professions such as medicine, pharmacy, nursing, and physiotherapy, proof of registration with their respective professional bodies is required.
Graduates of polytechnics and mono-technics are additionally expected to present their National Diploma certificates at the point of registration.
According to the board, any attempt to present fake credentials will lead to arrest, prosecution, and disqualification from the programme.
In the event of a lost call-up letter, the corps member must obtain a police report and an affidavit.
Those who received the letter from their institutions should return to their institutions for re-issuance, while those who printed theirs online can reprint from the NYSC portal.
There is a special consideration for married, pregnant, and nursing mothers who have been posted to states other than where their husbands reside.
Such individuals may report to the orientation camp in their current state of residence.
However, they must provide evidence of marriage, a valid form of identification belonging to the husband, and documentation proving the husband’s place of residence.
The NYSC Act stipulates legal consequences for those who either refuse to report for service or attempt to participate in the scheme illegally. Offenders are liable to prosecution as provided under the laws governing the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
As the orientation course approaches, prospective corps members are advised to make adequate preparations, travel safely, and ensure all documentation is in order.
The orientation programme is a critical foundation for a successful service year and national integration experience.
