The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has reaffirmed its firm stance against data manipulation in the mobilisation of graduates for their national service.
Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, the Director-General of NYSC, stated this in Abuja at the 2025 Batch C Pre-Mobilisation Workshop, themed “Enhancing Data Integrity for Credible Mobilisation for National Service in Contemporary Times.”
He mentioned that issues like identity theft, data manipulation, cybersecurity issues, and inconsistent data from Corps Producing Institutions (CPIs) affect the mobilisation process, emphasising that “NYSC will continue to apply sanctions wherever such unethical practices are discovered.”
Contributing, Mrs Rachel Idaewor, the Director of Corps Mobilisation, advised CPIs to do their jobs with integrity, maintain accuracy, and work with the genuine profiles of corps members.
Engr. Olatunji Ariyomo, the Chairman and Chief Executive of the Nigeria Education Repository and Databank (NERD), assured that the agency will collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure NYSC’s mandate is fulfilled.
