Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, will reopen for the 2024/2025 academic session on Saturday, October 11, following approval of its academic calendar by the Senate.
According to the schedule, new students will arrive on campus in phases. Those in the Faculties of Administration, Arts, Environmental Design and Management, Education, Law and Social Sciences are expected on October 11. Students in Agriculture, Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Computing Science and Engineering, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Science and Technology will resume on Sunday, October 12.
Registration for new students begins online on Monday, October 13, alongside the orientation programme, which runs until October 17. ICT training will follow from October 20 to 24. Returning undergraduates are to resume on Sunday, October 26, with lectures for all students commencing the next day.
The university has set October 31 as the deadline for regular course registration. Late registration, with a penalty, will be available from November 24 to 28. The matriculation ceremony is scheduled for December 3.
The Harmattan Semester, covering 13 weeks of lectures, revision and examinations, will end in March 2026. The Rain Semester is expected to begin on March 30.
