Otedola Donates ₦4 Billion at Augustine University

Nigerian billionaire and philanthropist, Femi Otedola, has donated ₦4 billion to support the completion of the Faculty of Engineering at Augustine University, Ilara-Epe, Lagos State.

Otedola, who is also the Chancellor of the faith-based institution, announced the university’s 7th convocation ceremony on Thursday, which also marked its 10th anniversary.

The donation, he explained, would cover the cost of constructing and furnishing the Electrical and Electronics Engineering block — a project that had been delayed by inflation and rising material prices. “I re-pledge my commitment to ensure the completion of this block, whose cost has escalated to almost ₦4 billion,” he said.

Otedola presented a ₦500 million cheque as the first instalment to the contractor and confirmed that the project’s contract had already been signed earlier in the day. He expressed hope that the building would be completed before the 2026 convocation.

The Chancellor also commended other benefactors, including Chief Bakare and Senator Daisy Danjuma, for their contributions, while praising the university’s progress in providing holistic education rooted in moral and intellectual excellence.
