Police Arrest 21 Students for Violence

Moses Yamu, the Edo State Police Command public relations officer

The Edo State Police Command has arrested 21 students of Ogioma Secondary School, aged 13-17, for violence.

Moses Yamu, the command’s public relations officer, said the students were arrested after acting on intelligence that they had trooped into Osemwende Public Secondary School on motorcycles to commit violent acts.
The police mentioned that a voice note sent to the school had Ogioma students threatening to harm students’ and staff’s lives, and burn it down.

In addition, the police recovered a chain and four knives from the suspects, remanded eight of them, and invited the principals of both schools for questioning.

The 13 students who were released to their parents and guardians would appear in court on November 28, 2025.
