Osun Polytechnic Alumni Honour Oluyole LG Chair, Engineer Akeem Olatunji, with Distinguished Alumnus Award
The Osun State Polytechnic Alumni Association has honoured the Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Engineer Akeem Olatunji, with its Distinguished Alumnus Award during the association’s 31st anniversary celebration in Osogbo.
Traditional rulers, political leaders and alumni attended the event, with the Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, serving as the royal father of the day.
Olatunji dedicated the award to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, describing the governor’s leadership as a key driver of his work at the grassroots. He also acknowledged Otunba Seye Famojuro for providing consistent guidance, saying the support had strengthened his resolve despite political distractions.
Olatunji has built a reputation for steady community development in Oluyole, with residents noting improvements in inner roads, upgraded markets, enhanced sanitation routines and better water access through borehole repairs. His administration has also supported schools, vulnerable households and traditional institutions.
The Alumni Association commended his dedication to public service and prayed for continued strength and a successful tenure. National Secretary Hon. Akeula Kolawole praised Olatunji’s reliability and his ongoing support for the association.
Several political aides and council officials accompanied the chairman to the event.
