Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko
The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Dr Chioma Irene Awuzie, has inaugurated the newly elected Students’ Union Government (SUG) executives, urging them to uphold integrity, unity, and service throughout their tenure.
The election resulted in Comrade Anuluonye Ifechukwu Joseph of Electrical/Electronic Engineering being elected President, and Comrade Nweke Kosarachi being elected Vice President. Other officials include Comrades Chukwurah Munachi (Secretary General), Dimejesi Marydoris (Assistant Secretary General), Okafor Ifechukwu (Financial Secretary), Chinedu Meshark (Treasurer), and Nwokpuru Eugene (Public Relations Officer).
The swearing-in, conducted by Engr. Barr. Ezeilo Joseph, on September 9, 2025, at the Mass Communication Complex, also saw the inauguration of the SUG Parliament, led by Speaker Comrade Uzoagbala Chibike Kenechukwu, and judiciary officials headed by Chief Judge Comrade Ekweali Godwin Chiemelie.
Addressing the students, Dr Awuzie charged the new leaders to serve responsibly, work harmoniously with management, and maintain peace and accountability. She reaffirmed the institution’s zero tolerance for cultism, examination malpractice, and extortion.
In his acceptance speech, Comrade Joseph pledged to promote students’ welfare and transportation reforms while strengthening communication between the union and the management.
