UNIPORT hosted a delegation from Renaissance Africa Energy Company Ltd
Renaissance Africa Energy Company Ltd. has extended its Memorandum of Understanding for the NNPC/Renaissance JV – Aret Adams Professorial Chair in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Port Harcourt for another four years.
A delegation from the company, led by Professor Kenneth Nweke and accompanied by Mr Victor Hart, visited the University on Thursday for the annual audit and monitoring of the endowment. The team held a courtesy meeting with the Vice-Chancellor, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Development), Professor Angela Ine Frank-Briggs.
Discussions focused on current activities under the Chair and expectations for the next phase. Renaissance Africa Energy commended the University for what it described as a productive and cordial partnership, adding that it remains committed to mentoring students and supporting academic excellence in petroleum engineering.
Professor Frank-Briggs welcomed the extension and thanked the company for its continued support. She said the University would sustain efforts to ensure the Chair delivers quality teaching, training and research aimed at developing skilled manpower for the oil and gas industry.
Also in attendance were the Chair Occupant, Professor Sunday Ikensikimama, and the Research Fellow, Dr Virtue Urunwo Wachikwu-Elechi.
