A new study published in the United States has indicated that drinking black coffee might help people live longer. It can also lower the risk of dying from heart problems.
The study was done in the United States. It reviewed the health records of over 46,000 adults from 1999 to 2018. It found that people who drank one to three cups of coffee daily were less likely to die prematurely, especially if they did not add sugar or cream to their coffee.
Drinking at least one cup a day lowered the risk of death by 16%. Drinking two to three cups lowered it by 17%. However, this worked best for people who drank black coffee or added just a little sugar or milk. If they used a lot of sugar and cream, the benefit was less.
Drinking more than three cups a day did not have a beneficial effect and might even reduce the positive impact on the heart. The study also did not find a strong link between coffee and cancer deaths. Experts believe coffee contains natural substances that benefit the body. However, adding too much sugar and cream can remove the good effects. They also noted that the study relied on participants’ memories of what they ate and drank, so its accuracy may be limited. The study agrees with health advice to eat less sugar and fatty foods. Black coffee appears to be beneficial for the heart, but further research is still needed. Even with minor issues, the study suggests that drinking a small amount of black coffee daily may help you live a longer and healthier life.
