Thomas Adewumi University, located in Kwara State, has welcomed 780 new students into its academic community. The students were admitted across seven faculties and 22 programmes during a matriculation ceremony held at the school auditorium.
Speaking at the event, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Francisca Oladipo stated that the rising number of students demonstrates the growing trust that parents and students have in the university. She encouraged the freshers to take both their academic work and extracurricular activities seriously.
Founder and Chancellor of the university, Johnson Adewumi, has advised students to live responsibly and keep the promise they made during matriculation. He told them to focus on hands-on learning and gaining global skills. Adewumi said that every student must complete community service and obtain at least two international certificates before graduating. The event was attended by JAMB officials, traditional rulers, parents, and education leaders, who all praised the school’s strong focus on providing a quality education and developing students’ character.
