The Presidency has outlined major reforms in Nigeria’s education sector under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Olusegun Dada, said the initiatives are part of the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda. Key highlights include the introduction of a student loan scheme to support higher education and the return of history as a subject in schools.
Other reforms include the Education for Renewed Hope Roadmap, a curriculum review focusing on entrepreneurship, digital literacy, and civic education, as well as an expanded school feeding programme. The feeding scheme will now use digital registries linked to the National Identity Management Commission to ensure transparency.
According to the presidency, these reforms aim to make education more accessible, practical, and future-driven. The government stressed that equipping young Nigerians with skills and knowledge remains central to national growth and development.
