Two AAUA Students Arrested for Rape

Two students of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State, have been arrested for conspiracy and raping a 20-year-old female student.

Olusola Ayanlade, the Police Public Relations Officer, Ondo State Police Command, in a statement, disclosed that the “Victim was invited to the residence of her long-time friend, Queen Sodo ‘f’, 19 years old, also a student of the same school.”

He added, “Trusting in the longevity of their friendship, which began in secondary school and continued into university, the victim accepted a drink provided by her friend, which was later found to have been laced with drugs, causing her to lose consciousness.”

The police spokesperson explained that Queen Sodo summoned a male student who raped the victim while she watched. He further revealed that the victim’s noise alerted a neighbour, who rescued her and took her for medical attention.

According to him, the two suspects admitted to their crime are now in custody and will be transferred to the Gender Desk Office, Akure, for further investigation.
