UHAS Extends Tenure of Vice-Chancellor and Registrar

Professor Lydia Aziato, VC, University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS)


The University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in Ho has renewed the appointments of its Vice-Chancellor, Professor Lydia Aziato, and Registrar, Miss Yaa Amankwaa Opuni, for a further four years.


The University Council confirmed that the new terms will run from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2030.


Professor Aziato expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in her, pledging to work closely with the university community and stakeholders to advance UHAS’s mandate of training healthcare professionals. She outlined plans to expand programmes, research initiatives, student and staff capacity, and infrastructure, aiming to maintain UHAS’s standing as Ghana’s leading health training institution.


Registrar Miss Opuni also expressed appreciation to the Council and reaffirmed her commitment to the university’s vision, mission, and strategic goals. She called on staff, faculty, management, and the Council to support her in fulfilling her responsibilities.

The renewed appointments signal continuity in leadership as UHAS pursues its mission to strengthen healthcare education and research across Ghana.
