The University of Ibadan is set to hold its 591st inaugural lecture on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
The lecture will welcome environmental advocates, students, policymakers, cultural custodians, the academic community, and the general public. Likewise, it will serve as a point of connection for science, culture, and philosophy.
Prof. Saka Oladunni Jimoh from the Department of Social and Environmental Forestry will deliver a lecture titled ‘Engaging African Traditional and Cultural Practices in Sustainable Forest Management.’
Jimoh is also a member of the Forestry Association of Nigeria, the International Society of Tropical Foresters, the Forest Stewardship Council, the African Forest Forum, and the Nigerian Conservation Foundation.
