The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has been approved by the City & Guilds of the United Kingdom as an accredited examination centre.
This makes ITF one of only seven centres in Nigeria with this recognition. The approval allows ITF to conduct examinations for international qualifications such as Level 2 Diplomas in Engineering, Housekeeping, Food Preparation, Plumbing, Bricklaying, and various ICT systems courses.
According to ITF, the accreditation followed several inspections of its training facilities since December 2023, and a “Train-the-Trainer” workshop for 22 officers who will handle training and supervise examinations. ITF Director-General, Dr Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun, said the development would help Nigerian artisans gain globally recognised certificates, improving their chances of getting jobs both locally and abroad. He added that this move supports ITF’s mission to provide quality human capital development in line with international standards.
