Umaru Musa Yar’Adua University (UMYU), Katsina
The Governing Council of Umaru Musa Yar’Adua University (UMYU), Katsina, has approved the promotion of 113 academic staff, including 19 to the rank of professor, effective.
The announcement was made on November 27 by the university’s Assistant Chief Information and Protocol Officer, Nabila Dahiru-Anche, following the council’s 56th meeting. Other promotions include 20 to readers, 31 to senior lecturers, 17 to lecturer I, and 26 to lecturer II, while 36 staff were converted or upgraded to higher cadres.
The meeting also welcomed the newly appointed Pro-Chancellor, Senator Hadi Abubakar-Sirika, who pledged to support institutional growth and engage collaboratively with all four in-house staff unions.
Additionally, the council approved a 100 per cent wage increase for the university’s cleaning staff. The promotion exercise and salary review were described as milestones in UMYU’s ongoing pursuit of academic excellence and transformative growth.
