The Chancellor of NextGen University International, USA, Prof Muhammad Shaik Rafi, has described UNESCO Laureate, Prof Bashiru Aremu, as a trailblazing Nigerian academic whose contributions to global education and technology remain exceptional.
In an interview on Thursday, Rafi praised Aremu, the Vice-Chancellor of Crown University International Chartered, USA, for his groundbreaking work in Computer Science and Information Technology.
“Prof. Aremu is a renowned academician whose research and innovations have earned him global recognition,” Rafi said. “He is a recipient of the prestigious UNESCO Science Prize and the Golden Medal for Distinguished Research Excellence in Computer Science and ICT.”
Aremu, an indigene of Iwo in Osun State, holds multiple post-doctoral degrees, including a Doctor of Science and a Grand PhD in Information Technology from West Coast University, USA, as well as a Doctor of Science in Bioinformatics from Ballsbridge University, West Indies.
He has served in various academic and administrative capacities across institutions in the United States, Cambodia, and Panama, including as Vice-Chancellor of Crown University International and Vice President of International Affairs at Sastra Angkor University.
Rafi noted that Prof Aremu’s research, mentorship, and leadership continue to shape global education standards, adding that his influence as an international scholar, editor, and consultant has inspired a new generation of academics worldwide.
