The University of Jos Alumni Association (UJAA) has pledged infrastructural support for the institution as part of activities marking its 50th anniversary.
The global President of the association, Peter, disclosed this on Saturday in Abuja during a health awareness walk organised by the association’s Abuja chapter. He said the alumni body would leverage members’ network and resources to renovate hostels and provide facilities that will improve the university’s learning environment.
According to him, alumni across Nigeria will host events from September 13 to 22, including concerts, lectures, and a roundtable on insecurity in the North-Central region. He added that members have already donated laptops and desktops to equip the registry department for faster transcript processing, while plans are underway to provide projectors and other learning tools.
Meanwhile, Osikoya Olusola, chairman of the Abuja chapter, described the golden jubilee as a milestone for UNIJOS, noting that the health walk was an avenue to unite alumni and educate them on health-related issues. He urged members to contribute materials or funds towards the anniversary projects.
