Prof Folasade Ogunsola welcomes the leadership of UNILAG Consult Limited
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) hosted a series of initiatives this week, underscoring its commitment to academic excellence and social responsibility.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Folasade Ogunsola welcomed the leadership of UNILAG Consult Limited, led by Chairman Professor Uchenna Udeani and Managing Director Professor Lekan Oyefara, to her Senate House office. The delegation presented twenty copies of the Chronicles of Douye Diri, celebrating the Bayelsa State Governor, and reaffirmed its focus on student-focused entrepreneurship and community engagement.
In a separate initiative, UNILAG launched its 2025 campaign for the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence under the theme “Orange UNILAG, Orange the World”. Led by the UNILAG Safeguarding Centre, the campaign seeks to raise awareness, mobilise resources for survivors, and strengthen institutional commitment to safe learning environments. Recent national research highlights that 37% of tertiary students experience sexual violence, underscoring the urgency of such interventions. Activities include campus illumination, workshops, digital advocacy, and an art exhibition aimed at fostering dialogue and prevention.
Through these combined efforts, UNILAG demonstrates its dedication not only to knowledge and innovation but also to creating a safe, inclusive, and socially responsible campus for staff, students, and the wider community.
