The University of Lagos (UNILAG) Medical Centre will host its 13th Annual Health Week in conjunction with World AIDS Day from Monday, December 1 to Wednesday, December 3, 2025. The week-long event aims to raise awareness on critical health issues and promote wellness among students, staff, and the wider community.
The programme kicks off on December 1 with a sensitisation campaign on HIV/AIDS, featuring a walk across the university’s faculties and units to engage the campus community. On December 2, a public lecture titled “Substance Abuse among Adolescents and Youths: Stemming the Tide” will be held at Afe Babalola Hall from 10:00 a.m., focusing on the growing concerns of substance misuse among young people.
The week concludes on December 3 with a medical screening and wellness seminar at Tolu Odugbemi Hall, running from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., offering practical health checks and guidance on healthy living.
Members of the university and the general public are encouraged to join the events, reflecting UNILAG Medical Centre’s commitment to fostering a healthier, informed, and proactive community.
