UNILAG Launches Fast-Track Security Desk

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has partnered with the Lagos State Task Force to address illegal trading, traffic congestion, and safety concerns surrounding its main campus.

Recently, the university’s Security Unit, led by Coordinator Mr D. M. Omotoso, met Taskforce Chairman CSP Adetayo Akerele in Oshodi to strengthen collaboration. The engagement follows rising concerns about hawkers, hoodlums, and poor sanitation disrupting the area near the university gate.

CSP Akerele announced the creation of a dedicated front desk at the Taskforce office to handle UNILAG-referred cases, which will be fast-tracked through six mobile courts, promising swifter resolution for security and environmental complaints.

The move reflects a renewed commitment by UNILAG and the Lagos State Taskforce to ensure a safe, orderly, and student-friendly environment, benefiting both the campus community and neighbouring residents.
