UNILAG Scholars Win 2024 TETFund Research Grants

Four faculty members at UNILAG have emerged TETFund_NRF grant awardees for the year 2024 (Batch 10)

Four academic staff of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) have secured research grants under the 2024 Tertiary Education Trust Fund/National Research Fund (TETFund/NRF) scheme, Batch 10.

The awardees include Dr Aneyo Idowu Ayisat of the Department of Zoology, Faculty of Life Sciences, who will lead a study on tackling novel psychoactive substances in Nigeria through prevalence studies, analytical profiling, and cost-effective detection technologies.

Dr Egunjobi Adenike Titilayo of the Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, won support for research on bridging the skill gap to improve higher education quality and graduate employability in Nigeria.

Also selected is Dr Ehigie Julius Osato of the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Physical and Earth Sciences, for a project on real-time air pollution tracking and innovative numerical models for calculating the Air Quality Index.

Rounding out the quartet is Dr Odeleye Anthonia, also from the Department of Economics, who will investigate economic policy shocks, welfare lessons, and coping strategies among women in Nigeria’s informal sector.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, congratulated the recipients on behalf of the University Senate, staff, and students, describing the feat as a reflection of UNILAG’s commitment to cutting-edge research that addresses national challenges.
