The Registrar of the University of Ilorin, Mr Mansur Adeleke Alfanla, has urged students to remain vigilant and cautious, especially when moving outside the campus.
Speaking in an interview, Alfanla warned students against associating with individuals of questionable character and advised them to avoid accepting free rides from strangers. He further cautioned students to board only properly labelled commercial vehicles, record their registration numbers, and share them with trusted contacts. He added that vehicles with tinted glasses should be avoided and advised students to keep windows partly open for safety.
Addressing the ongoing transportation challenges on campus, the Registrar assured that the situation would soon be resolved. He disclosed that the university had engaged Soludero mass transit buses owned by the Kwara State Government to ease students’ movement.
Alfanla appealed to transport companies, community organisations and private investors to partner with the university, noting that with over 50,000 students and staff, transport ventures within the campus would be profitable.
