A lecturer at the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Peter Olumuyiwa, has been listed among the top 2% of scientists worldwide for two consecutive years, 2024 and 2025.
The data used for the ranking were verified and sourced from Elsevier and Stanford University’s List of the Top 2% Scientists.
Remarking on this feat, the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof Ebunoluwa Adejuyigbe, congratulated him and praised his achievement for placing the university on the global map.
Adejuyigbe, in a statement made available to newsmen on Sunday in Akure through Isaac Oluyi, the institution’s Public Relations Officer, said, “I congratulate Dr Peter Olumuyiwa on this remarkable feat. “This is a testament to the hard work and excellence for which UNIMED and its staff are known worldwide. We are proud of this accomplishment,” the statement added.
Olumuyiwa is a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. His research focused on Biomathematics, Infectious Disease Modelling, Artificial Intelligence, and Image Processing.
