The Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF) has handed over a fully equipped e-Learning Centre to the National Teachers’ Institute (NTI), Kaduna, to enhance teacher education through ICT-driven training.
The project, executed in partnership with Messrs Data Spectrum Ltd, was established at the NTI headquarters and main campus in Kaduna. The centre is equipped with 100 all-in-one PCs, 30 laptops, servers, switches, routers, access control systems, power and cooling installations, and a local area network, alongside a 4mbps microwave internet connection. Relevant NTI staff were also trained on managing the facilities.
According to USPF, the intervention will enable the institute to conduct computer-based testing, improve data management, and deliver ICT-enabled training for teachers. Director-General of NTI, Dr Aminu Ladan, commended the initiative, noting that the facility would significantly support the institute’s modernisation and training objectives.
