The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the results of the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
Reports show that 745,545 out of the total 1,969,313 candidates, making 38.32% who sat for the examination had credits and above in a minimum of five subjects in English Language and Mathematics. Addressing the press at a briefing on Monday, August 4, 2025, Dr Amos Dangut, the Head of Nigeria National Office, WAEC, said the examination body withheld the results of 192,089 (9.75%) candidates. Dangut elaborated that the results were withheld because of the use of cellphones, cheating, among other reasons.
