Huriyya Dauda Lawal, First Lady of Zamfara State, distributed personal hygiene kits to 1,000 students
Hajiya Hurriya Dauda Lawal, the First Lady of Zamfara State, has partnered with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to distribute 1,000 personal hygiene kits to students of Government Girls Day Secondary School, Galadima Ala, in Gusau.
The donation is part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, an initiative that supports girls’ education and safety.
Addressing the students, the first lady advised them to focus on their studies and conduct themselves well online to prevent violence.
She stated, “You should be mindful of what you post online, as the internet never forgets. Use these kits well, care for yourselves and live confidently without fear.”
In addition, she noted, “Digital violence is real, and its impact can be deeply damaging. We must stand together to safeguard ourselves and others in online spaces. Gender-Based Violence is no longer just physical; it now exists in the digital space.”
